Chinese star carrying player Song “Sccc” Chun split with EHOME just ten days before the start of the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season, with the transfer being confirmed on Thursday (7 January) and posted by VPesports on the team’s Weibo account.

Sccc’s resignation from EHOME came at his own request, and EHOME announced in its statement that his contract with the team was peacefully terminated.

Through the most recent roster shuffle for the Dota 2 Chinese scene in September, Sccc joined EHOME. Sccc helped EHOME win Season 2 of the DPL-CDA Dota 2 Professional League in his tenure with the club, placing second in China Dota 2 Pro Cup Season 1 and Season 2 of the DPL-CDA Dota 2 Professional Championship, as well as finishing third in China Dota 2 Pro Cup Season 2 and OGA Dota PIT Online: China Season 4 back-to-back.

Thanks to their excellent results after the roster swap, alongside PSG.LGD, Vici Gaming, and Elephant, EHOME awarded one of the four direct invitations to the Upper Division of the DPC’s Chinese regional league.

Malaysian player Lai ‘Ahjit’ Jay Son, who played for most recently, will replace Sccc.

In 2015, Sccc began his professional career with Newbee, ultimately attracting attention as one of China’s top midlaners and leading his team to The International 2017 grand finals (TI7). In September 2019, he left Newbee to join Aster as their carry-player.

At the moment of writing, Sccc has not yet given a comment about his departure from EHOME. If he will find a new squad before the DPC begins or take a break from professional play is uncertain.

Compared to the other regional leagues, the first season of the DPC Chinese regional league will last longer, from 18 January to 14 March, as it will have a gap in the middle of the season to host the Chinese New Year on 12 February.
