Here’s how to get the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War after the developers made a mistake.
Treyarch accidentally launched the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow in Black Ops Cold War on March 18, 2021, and it also appeared in a pack for Warzone players to buy for a few hours. Although the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow has since been withdrawn, we thought we’d share the steps to activating it when it returns to Warzone and Black Ops Cold War during Season 2.
How to Unlock the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow
You can unlock the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow in Black Ops Cold War by completing an in-game challenge once it returns (see next section).
Although it may be challenging, and we recommend playing in Hardcore Mode to complete the in-game challenge, all you need to do is use a weapon with no attachments to obtain three (3) One Shot, One Kill medals in 15 different games.
The R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow is described as follows: “Silently eliminates enemies by launching lethal bolt projectiles. Excellent hip-fire accuracy and control. Bolts must be manually tightened.”
You will be able to use the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow in Warzone if you unlock it in Black Ops Cold War. Warzone players will also be able to buy a pack that includes the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow.
When will the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow be usable again?
At the time of writing, neither Activision nor Treyarch have indicated when the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow will return to Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.
Activision Support tweeted, “An problem with the R1 Shadowhunter weapon emerging earlier than expected in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War has been resolved.”
“Players who bought the package when it was live in the Store will receive refunds, and the bundle and in-game challenge will return at a later date.”
As we wait for the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow to return to both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, you can still practice those one-shot kills to trigger it easily when it does.
