OpTic Chicago fought the Toronto Ultra on Day 3 of the Super Week Call of the Duty League. Although the match had some anticipation, it ended up with one of the biggest map blowouts in CDL history.
Coming to Super Week, Toronto was already ahead of OpTic in the standings, and came in yesterday after their defeat to Atlanta FaZe. But, those braggling rights have now gone to the Ultra, losing a score of 1-3 against Chicago.
The final score is not what the group did, though; it was the score of the first Hardpoint match.
OpTic is taking control of Toronto
The match between the top two half-time CDL teams started innocently enough. Hardpoint on Checkmate was not a cause for concern for either side, as they had not played the map in a series this year.
However, the map rapidly developed into one of the worst scores ever seen in the CDL match. At one point, OpTic Chicago scored 222-8. In a professional setting, the scoreline is almost unheard of. Although Toronto was able to climb back to a very respectable ranking, the 250-68 map was still lost.

Brandon “Dashy” Otell and Dylan “Envoy” Hannon both had big games, with the Envoy going double-positive and flanking Ultra all over the map. Specifically for Dashy, this match was a bit of vengeance, as Toronto beat his OpTic Gaming L.A. 250-49 at CDL Minnesota last year.

Call of Duty League Super Week has generated some amazing statistics matches. Not only did OpTic Chicago beat Toronto with a ludicrous Hardpoint ranking, but the New York Subliners won the fastest Control game ever against the London Royal Ravens.
According to JPKrez, New York’s stats expert, the match only took a total time of 5:36 between all rounds. This beats the previous record that 100 Thieves have been keeping since the Black Ops 4. Strangely enough, both the Control Match and OpTic’s Hardpoint blowout against Toronto took place at Checkmate.
I’m pretty sure we just won the fastest Control map ever in a pro match (5:36 start to finish on Checkmate).
Previous record: 100T vs. Midnight Arsenal (BO4 Champs) 5:40 start to finish.
