Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months, you’re definitely familiar with the name of Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter, the YouTube gaming celebrity who, with her livestreams and content on the site, has drawn the interest of millions of video game fans around the world.

Although she was already named the fastest-growing female streamer of all time, her popularity nevertheless stopped short of Twitch streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys, who on the livestreaming website had a follow-up count of over 7 million.

However, as a new study from Stream Hatchet has reported that Valkyrae has overtaken Pokimane as the most-viewed female streamer of 2020 across all video game streaming networks, that does not seem to be the case anymore.

Valkyrae has managed to gain a total of 23.6 million hours of viewing over the past year, while Poki has just 23.3 million hours of viewing on her channel. With 20.1, 14.6, and 14.0 million hours respectively, the pair were trailed by ‘saddummy’, ‘pekora’, and ‘Jinnytty’.

Social distancing and quarantining played a role in the streamer’s blooming performance, but much of it is attributable to streams from Valkyrae’s Among Us. One of the fastest-growing titles in terms of success in 2020 was Among Us, which enabled Valkyrae to become the world’s fastest-growing streamer. Since then, by playing what they want to see, she has developed herself as a variety streamer, appealing to her fans and the larger streaming world.

Valkyrae was seen consistently rocking peak concurrent spectator counts of over 100,000 by the end of the year, which is a phenomenal feat in itself.
