Team Liquid’s latest fifth going to 2021 will be youngster Elias ‘Jamppi’ Olkkonen, who was most recently seen performing his trade for ENCE.

As George Geddes of Daily Esports reported earlier, Jamppi has moved to Team Liquid’s Valorant group. The 19-year-old prodigy replaced Adam “ec1s” Eccles at the start of the five, after the latter had been benched earlier today.

Before making the move, Jamppi was proclaimed an up-and-coming talent when playing in Counter Strike: Global Offensive. But his plans were hammered down by the notorious VAC (Valve Anti-cheat) ban, which had begun to thwart the Finnish player’s chances at the cost of his slot at OG’s CS:GO project.

A lawsuit was also filed in an effort to lift Jamppi’s injunction, but it failed to achieve equal results.

The case then suggested that the plaintiff had bought a second copy of CS:GO in 2015 for his buddy to play alongside the LAN band. However, then 14-year-old Elias sold the account to a friend, and later it was banned by the VAC.

The complaint also stated that the game developers had allegedly communicated to the petitioner that his ban would remain intact and that the petitioner would not be permitted to participate in the events funded by Valve.

At some point in time, the petitioner’s questions were not answered or ignored by Valve Corporation.

Jamppi served ENCE from April 2020 – December 2020 until the end of the year. Earlier in January, he began reconsidering his options in CS:GO, which later resulted in the switch to Riot’s First Person Strategy Shooter.

He is supposed to play the dual role of Jett along with the same role as a sniper. Team Liquid’s last shot on their path to the VCT Masters was to make it to the main event, i.e. via the Challengers 3 event.

With the addition of Jamppi, Liquid is now:

  • James “Kryptix” Affleck
  • Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen
  • Travis “L1NK” Mendoza
  • Dom “soulcas’ Sulcas
  • Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom
  • Adam “ec1s” Eccles (Benched)
  • Connor “Sliggy” Blomfield (Head Coach)
