A Russian E-sports organization, E-sports Gambit give announcement about their director position.
Konstantin “groove” Pikine, the former professional Counter-Strike 1.6 player has been coaching the CS:GO team for the past year and a half.
Previously Gambit’s the head coach was Ivan “F_1N” Kochugov,
But he was suspended by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) for using the spectator bug.
Then Groove replace the position of “F_1N”.
And now, groove will be focusing solely on coaching.
He decided to leaves sporting director position in Gambit Gaming.
But Groove’s decision didn’t surprise the team member.
Groove brings Gambit’s CS:GO team become one of the best in the world under his guidance.
Gambit succeeds winning several S-tier event such as; IEM Katowice in February 2021, IEM Summer, and BLAST Premier Spring Finals in June 2021.
Furthermore, Groove also brings Gambit to a semi-final run at the PGL Stockholm Major in November 2021.
Groove already give a big contribution for the team.
And now is the time for him to take another opportunity for himself.
On their official account twitter, Gambit E-sports says;
“For the last year and a half [groove] has devoted an enormous amount of time to coaching and shortly he will focus solely on it. The organization has got the experienced sport management team, which will continue operating smoothly.”
The statement come up to the public after ESL’s decision.
The decision exclude Gambit from the current ESL Pro League Season 15 due to “links to the Russian government”, and BLAST’s not to accept Russia-based teams to their tournaments in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
